Expressing Gratitude: A Journey Inspired by an Exceptional Chairman
I am incredibly grateful for the presence of our esteemed chairman, Mr. Ikram Sehgal, in my life. Without hesitation, I can confidently proclaim him to be one of the kindest individuals on this planet, and I consider myself fortunate to have him as my employer. His unwavering dedication to our nation, Pakistan, and his tireless efforts to represent our country at the prestigious Davos World Economic Forum (WEF) for the past two decades are testaments to his patriotism and remarkable character.
Attending the WEF is an enlightening experience, as it showcases each country’s representation at a state level. Countries like India even have multiple levels of representation, with individual states such as Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra presenting their own separate houses and voices. Regrettably, Pakistan’s government has not deemed it necessary to officially represent our nation at the state level during the WEF.
It is Mr. Ikram Sehgal, our chairman, who takes it upon himself to fill this void. He personally hosts Pakistan Breakfast and other events, making all necessary arrangements to showcase Pakistan on an international platform. His unwavering commitment to promoting our country’s potential at the global stage is truly commendable.
In recent years, Mr. Ikram Sehgal has extended his generosity to his high-performing employees by offering them company-sponsored tours of Europe and Turkey. To my delight, I was chosen to participate in the tours for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024 consecutively (as of the recent update in November 2023).
During the 2022 tour, we were provided with a luxurious bus that catered to our every need. The bus was equipped with amenities such as a coffee maker, a cooling system or fridge stocked with bottles and juices, and even a restroom. Our journey took us to enchanting destinations including Milan in Italy, Zurich/Davos in Switzerland, Munich/Strasbourg in Germany, Paris in France, Brussels in Belgium, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and finally Istanbul in Turkey via air travel.
The meticulously planned itinerary for the 2023 tour encompassed visits to Zurich/Davos in Switzerland, Vienna in Austria, Budapest in Hungary, Venice and Rome in Italy, and Istanbul in Turkey. Each destination promised a unique blend of culture, history, and breathtaking sights, leaving us in awe of the wonders that Europe and Turkey had to offer.
Looking ahead to the 2024 tour, we eagerly anticipate exploring Zurich/Davos in Switzerland once again, followed by the vibrant cities of Barcelona, Cordoba, Madrid, and Granada in Spain, and concluding our adventure in Lisbon, Portugal. The mere thought of immersing ourselves in the diverse landscapes, culinary delights, and rich heritage of these destinations fills us with anticipation and excitement.
The opportunity to embark on these extraordinary journeys under the guidance and sponsorship of our exceptional chairman is a privilege beyond measure. Mr. Ikram Sehgal’s unwavering belief in the potential of his employees and his commitment to their growth and well-being is truly commendable. As we prepare ourselves for the forthcoming tours, we are filled with gratitude for the unique experiences that await us, and we eagerly anticipate the memories we will create.
